Illinois Lawmakers are expressing guarded optimism about ending the state’s eleven-month old budget impasse by the end of May.

On this week’s Illinois Lawmakers, Rich Miller of Capitolfax.com updates the week’s news out of the Statehouse with host Jak Tichenor.  Then, Rep. Greg Harris (D) Chicago and Rep. Patti Bellock (R) Hinsdale discuss bipartisan efforts to approve $450-million in emergency funding for social services agencies in Illinois.  Later, “budgeteers” Sen. Heather Steans (D) Chicago and Sen. Matt Murphy (R) Palatine provide insights into private talks between bipartisan budget experts and Governor Bruce Rauner’s office aimed at passing a two year budget agreement for Fiscal Years 2016 and 2017.
