#3008 - Democratic Budget, Governors Turnaround Agenda, and Session Impasse

The Illinois General Assembly may be in for a long, hot summer after the Democratic majorities in the House and Senate advance their own version of a $36.3-billion budget for FY 2016 after rejecting Governor Bruce Rauner’s Illinois Turnaround Agenda.

Capitolfax.com’s Rich Miller opens this week’s program followed by a newsmaker interview with Senate President John Cullerton (D) Chicago about the Democratic spending plan and his party’s rejection of the Governor’s agenda.  Rounding out this week’s coverage, Senator Iris Martinez (D) Chicago and Representative David Reis (R) St Marie discuss the end of session impasse from the perspective of rank and file lawmakers from both ends of the state.
